Within the cranial community “Biodynamic” is used to convey a core principle that the essence of life (the Health) is not to be found in the cell or in the genes but rather in the expression of the organism as a Whole. We do not incarnate as a single - cell or as a group of cells but as a fully functioning human organism whose essence persists as our appearance changes in time. Biodynamic theory maintains that the very idea of the cell is basically a morphological abstraction. It is also now clear that genes cannot act by themselves and that they require the presence of an outside force acting upon them. The German embryologist Blechschmidlt states that "The belief that the genes represent a blueprint is now out of date." The Whole, as perceived and defined within the biodynamic model is an expression of the consciousness of the Natural world in communion with the incarnational and excarnational life - processes of a human being. In Biodynamic trainings we gradually learn to perceive the movement of Wholeness as an effect of Primary Respiration. Primary Respiration is Divinely given, and as it passes through us it re-ignites the process of our incarnation in that moment with a power that is equal to the very moment of creation itself. Primary Respiration cannot be increased or decreased and it does not adhere to the laws of cause and effect or of time and space. It is an expression of the Eternal and unknowable. Wholeness as an effect of Primary Respiration is initially understood in biodynamic trainings as the self – organizing, spatial and metabolic movements that occur during the earliest phases of our embryological development. The early human embryo is a form of consciousness who begins to create herself before she has a central nervous system and prior to the expression of her genes. In time and with much patience and practice, biodynamic students learn to perceive the embryo as the “fluid body” of the adult. When we can "be still and know" we can finally perceive the fluid body of the adult as an expression of the Health that created an embryo.
There has never been a more exciting time to study Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. There is a depth and a sense of timely relevance to this work that is both fascinating and compelling. It comprises a growing community of committed practitioners and teachers who recognize that our culture requires new paradigms in the healing arts able to relate to the current level of suffering and trauma held in the collective psyche and soma. It recognizes that the Sacred must be brought back into the modern treatment room so that our clients can regain a relationship to the orienting and healing power of Nature and the Divine presence. Cranial work in the biodynamic field regards the early human embryo as one of the the most potent symbols of creation and healing available to us at this moment of transition in the evolution of our consciousness. It is a symbol that is signaling our culture to make radical changes in its beliefs, in the direction of its lifestyle and in its relationship to Nature.
This Foundation Training aims to contribute to the evolving paradigm of Biodymanic Craniosacral Therapy in the same spirit of inquiry, personal integrity and love of nature that gave rise to the original Cranial Concept.
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is coming into its own in a culture that is ready for it. Come and join a growing community of practitioners ready to help make profound changes to the way we understand and support healing, Health and a sense of wholeness.
