The Sacred Yew Institute honors the Yew Tree as the (embryological) Tree of Life. The Yew Tree is the living symbol of the  World Tree Yggdrasil. It is the oldest sentient expression of Eternal and Divine laws. Three primordial roots from Yggdrasil reach into three worlds - the world of the gods, the world of the giants and the world of the dead -  and each world contains a divine well which nourishes each root. In the Poetic Edda we are told that humanity originated from the Hallowed Seed of Heimdallr - Heim as World and dallr as Tree. (Hageneder 2007)  Collectively we are the children of the World Tree. The World Tree generates the multidimensional axis or original midline that connects, orients and animates all  forms of consciousness.
