The Sacred Yew Institute honors the Yew Tree as the original Tree of Life. The Yew Tree is the living symbol of the  World Tree Yggdrasil. It is the oldest sentient expression of Eternal and Divine laws. The World Tree generates the multidimensional axis or original midline that connects, orients and animates all forms of consciousness. Three primordial roots from Yggdrasil reach into three worlds - the world of the gods, the world of the giants and the world of the dead -  and each world contains a divine well which nourishes each root. In the Poetic Edda we are told that humanity originated from the Hallowed Seed of Heimdallr - Heim as World and dallr as Tree. (Hageneder 2007)  Collectively we are the 'children' of the World Tree. The ancient language of the yew tree holds the story of human Origin. It holds memory and information about the form and existence of early human beings as well as the conditions that prevailed on our planet. The Divine mysteries of preconception and the stages of early human embryological development represent the levels of sentience closest to Origin in this deepest sense.
